Today I started out to paint a yellow and a red bell pepper but none of my red colors could produce a red closer to that of the red pepper. Maybe that’s because I only use non-toxic colors and not the cadmium based reds and oranges. Producing bright red without cadmium colors will take some more experimentation, but that’s for another day.
Finally took red pepper out of the equation and painted this portrait of a yellow pepper.
It is September and the occasional cloud cover and spell of rain is that of retreating monsoon in western India. Khed-Shivapur is an area in the far outskirts of Pune and so still has vast farms growing rice, vegetables and flowers.
